Fun and Games 10:00-13:00, Sportshuset

Spring gymnastics, summersaults, the odd flic flac and a chance to shake it all about.  

Sportshuset will be jam-packed with activities and kids aged three through nine, with plenty of opportunities for your children to enjoy a couple of energetic hour with kids their own age.
 


 
Panna 10.00-15.00 in the Foyer
— for all age groups and the whole family


The side step and the sudden dash – in Denmark street soccer has moved out of the shadows to attract a huge mixture of players. These days street soccer is a sport for life.

On Sunday 12 February you can try out Panna, one of the street soccer disciplines. You play Panna one on one on small round pitches with inflatable sides. It is a game packed with tricks and skills.

The pitch will be available to anyone who wants a go. Borrow a ball from Reception. On Thursday 16, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 you will also be able to take part in a three-hour Panna workshop from 12.00 to 15.00.


Table tennis 10.00-15.00 in the foyer
— for all age groups and the whole family

Serves, backspin and smashes – DGI Table Tennis and Go Active start at 10.00 with an open table tennis tournament. Pick up an entry form from the Reception, where you can also borrow a bat and balls.
For the tournament you can challenge anyone: your dad, mum, brothers and sisters, friends, or anyone else who turns up looking for a game.

On Sunday 12 February you can test your body age and see if you should consider a change of lifestyle or just carry on the way you are!


The Great Outdoors 10.00-16.00 in front of the main entrance

Outdoor leisure crafts in the city – the DGI Storkøbenhavn Nature on the Move project is designed to generate more activity emphasising nature, movement and outdoor leisure. For this week Nature on the Move is bringing a range of enjoyable outdoor pursuits to the area in front of the main entrance to DGI Byen to give you and your family an opportunity to try out a variety of fun activities.

They include the outdoor sauna followed by dousing in icy water, coffee and hot chocolate from the outdoor lounge, going for a run directed by GPS, samples of outdoor Nordic cooking, making “Snow Bread” on the open fire, wood carving, and plenty of competitions.

Ultimate 10.00-14.00, Idrætshuset
Adults only (over 18)


Games for grown-ups – Ultimate is a non-contact team sport using a Frisbee. The aim of the game is to score points by throwing the Frisbee to a team-mate in the opposing end-zone. It is a game that encourages plenty of activity as the player holding the Frisbee is not allowed to run with it and has to pivot on one foot, forcing the other players to move all the more.

At 10.00 there will be an open training session where you can learn throwing skills and a range of group drills. The session will end in a proper game.

Rugby union & touch rugby 10.00-14.00, Idrætshuset
— for eight-year-olds and up

Rugby is a contact sport for both kids in all ages and adults (women and men). Rugby originates from England and is played all over the world.

Come and learn about rugby. Try to do some ball and tackle exercises and play some touch rugby. There will be both youth coaches and coaches from the mens and woman team.

If you already play rugby you can come and play some touch and we can tell you where you can play in Copenhagen.

There will be 2 specific sessions for kids and 2 specific sessions for adults. But there will always be people around you can chat with.

 
Yoga 10.00-11.00, Forsamlingshuset
— for adults and over-fifteens


Harmony, insight and tranquillity – take a breather during holiday week with a yoga session. Our sessions are based on Hatha yoga. The physical exercises will challenge your balance, strength, suppleness and concentration. The exercises will be carefully varied, with some requiring physical effort, others more meditative. But there will be plenty of opportunity to work up a sweat. Bring a friend along and check it out!

Yoga for kids 11.30-12.00, ND Room
— for the six-to-ten year-olds


Play and harmony – yoga for kids is playful yoga , with lots of play elements incorporated into the sessions, which will be based on Hatha yoga – just like the grown-ups. The physical drills will promote your child’s balance, suppleness and concentration. The exercises will be carefully varied, with some requiring physical effort, and others more meditative. But there will be plenty of opportunity to work off some energy.

ACT 11.30-12.30, Forsamlingshuset
— for adults and over-fifteens


ACT is an effective strength and conditioning programme developed by DGI and Butcher’s Lab, the leading Cross-fit centre in Denmark. ACT is whole-body training, benefitting musckles, sinews, joints and endurance.
The ACT philosophy is to create a powerful athletic body – the aim is not big muscles, but great strength to be used functionally in everyday life or when practicing other sports disciplines.

Roller board hockey 13.30-15.00, Sporthuset
— for all age groups and the whole family


Fun, excitement and lots of laughs – Roller board hockey is a discipline in which you move around on a roller board as you wield your ultra-short hockey stick. There may be as many as eight player son the pitch at a time: two teams of four.
We start by warming up and doing a few drills to get you used to the board. We round off by playing a round of games with and against each other.

Bhangra 13.00-14.00, Forsamlingshuset

Work up a real glow – Bhangra is a colourful, dynamic dance discipline that will put a smile on your face too.
Give it a try if you are looking for an approach to dancing that gives all your muscles a great work-out. The music and beat is so catchy that there is no way you can stand still.

The steps are simple and fun, but Bhangra can give you a real work-out too.
Bhangra is for kids and grown-ups, and the session will last an hour.

Pilates is a great way to keep in shape. It can improve your balance, posture, strength and suppleness.
Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds, from novice to elite.

Rough and tumble 14.30-15.30, Gymnastikhuset

This is a play hour of acrobatics and tumbling for boys and girls from three to six. It is a great opportunity to give your child an unforgettable experience – and of course there will be proper instruction combined with lots of time to jump about.
